Lithuania’s top court upholds Vilnius Airport fee increase
Lithuania’s Supreme Administrative Court has confirmed that Vilnius Airport lawfully increased its airport charges in 2023, rejecting appeals from airlines. The ruling is final and confirms that Lithuanian Airports complied with all legal and procedural requirements when introducing the new pricing structure.
The court found that the adjustment was justified by a significant rise in operational costs in the years leading up to 2023. Airport charges had not been updated since 2018, and the revised pricing covers services such as passenger handling, aircraft landing fees, parking, and special assistance. Under EU rules, such charges must reflect actual costs and investments.
Traffic at Vilnius Airport continued to grow between 2023 and 2025, with both passenger numbers and flight movements increasing. The decision provides legal certainty for the airport’s pricing model, with charges remaining unchanged since their introduction.
More details are available in the official announcement by Lithuanian Airports.
