Istanbul Airport opens fourth main runway
Istanbul Airport has opened its fourth main runway, an east-west-oriented runway designed to reduce airborne holding and taxi times, particularly for domestic and eastbound flights. The first flight has already taken place, with the runway expected to deliver time and fuel savings, including in adverse weather conditions.
The runway was inaugurated alongside the JETEX-iGA Terminal for private passengers and Hilton Istanbul Airport, both launched earlier this year.
The new infrastructure forms part of the ongoing development of iGA Istanbul Airport, supporting its operational capacity and connectivity while bringing together additional passenger and commercial facilities within the airport.
