Riga Airport launches next phase of RIX Airport City
Riga Airport has launched a new development phase for RIX Airport City, starting the qualification stage of an international competitive dialogue for the construction of a hotel and office building within the airport territory. The first phase of the project is planned for completion by 2030.
The development will cover two sites, with 1.2 hectares allocated for a hotel and 0.9 hectares for an office building and associated infrastructure. The selected developer will receive building rights for up to 50 years. Sustainability requirements are also included in the tender, covering areas such as CO₂ emissions, energy consumption and the use of alternative energy sources.
RIX Airport City is planned as a mixed-use development covering more than 24 hectares, with hotels, offices, retail and logistics facilities. The project is intended to transform currently undeveloped land around Riga Airport into a wider business and service hub.
