Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority establish Norway as an international test arena for zero and low emission aviation
Norway will test clean aviation solutions within its airspace contributing to the goal of fossil-free Norwegian aviation by 2050 and generating findings and solutions for other markets to emulate.
Avinor and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority have entered into a cooperation agreement on the establishment of Norway as an international test arena for zero- and low-emission aircraft.
Avinor will provide infrastructure, airspace and access to energy, and the Civil Aviation Authority will provide regulatory facilitation.
This development can help ensure an early introduction of relevant solutions for the Norwegian market and will be an important step towards development of zero-emission aviation on a larger scale globally. There is currently no equivalent test arena in an operational environment in the world.
