ACI EUROPE Study Tour 2023: Building resilience through collaboration in a VUCA world
ACI EUROPE’s annual Study Tour, after a three-year hiatus, was held on 13-17 March 2023, hosted by Athens International Airport and Fraport Greece. The tour welcomed more than 25 participants from 10 airports and one World Business Partner. The theme of the tour was “Building Resilience through Collaboration in a VUCA World.”
The Study Tour is an annual event organised by the ACI EUROPE HR & Leadership Forum. It aims to provide a platform for airport professionals to exchange best practices, gain first-hand insight and share expertise with colleagues from across Europe. Collaboration is key to optimal decision-making and implementing aligned business strategies. Through a series of case studies, both hosting airports demonstrated their successful collaboration strategies in a VUCA world, paving the way for major achievements in finance, IT, environment, operations, and HR.
Tourism is crucial to the Greek economy, and special emphasis was given to partnerships with tourism boards to promote Greece as a destination and Greek airports as a brand.
After five days of intensive work, participants had the opportunity to enjoy Greek hospitality, sample local cuisine, and take part in a city tour. Key findings and conclusions of the Study Tour will be presented at the upcoming Leadership & HR forum meeting.
The participating airports included Hermes, Aena, Bologna, Naples, Tirana, Lithuanian Airports, Isavia, Vienna, and the hosts Athens and Fraport Greece. The World Business Partner was TH Airport Consulting.
Overall, the ACI EUROPE Study Tour 2023 provided a valuable opportunity for airport professionals to learn from each other, exchange ideas, and build collaborative relationships.
