VINCI Airports signs agreement with H2V and Hy2gen on e-SAF
VINCI Airports signed a strategic partnership with H2V and Hy2gen to study and implement a supply chain of sustainable synthetic fuels (e‑SAF).
The aim is to distribute e‑SAF products derived from low carbon emissions hydrogen at Lyon-Saint Exupéry, Lyon-Bron, and Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne airports by 2030, with a following expansion to the Alpine airports. This initiative is part of VINCI Airports’ sustainability strategy to decarbonise the aviation sector, with Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) already distributed across numerous platforms in France and Europe.
The project, presented at the Hyvolution fair, aims to produce e‑SAF from H2V and the Hy2gen consortium in Fos-sur-Mer, reducing CO2 emissions by 86% compared to kerosene. VINCI Airports is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030, implementing numerous actions to decarbonise, such as adjusting landing tariffs based on emissions, reducing operational emissions, promoting sustainable transport, and raising awareness among passengers. Additionally, VINCI supports long-term hydrogen projects, including participation in the Clean Hydrogen Infrastructure Fund.
