Vilnius Airport will introduce the first aircraft de-icing wastewater treatment plant in the Baltic States this autumn, a significant step towards sustainability.
The plant, representing an investment of EUR 2.9 million, is partially funded by the European Union.
It will collect and treat wastewater generated during aircraft de-icing, transforming it into a valuable raw material for various industries. This initiative enhances aviation service quality, safety, and sustainability in Lithuania. The facility is fully automated and operates with advanced engineering technologies to collect and process de-icing fluid, supporting a circular economy.
