TAV-Fraport AG secures €2.8 billion for Antalya Airport expansion
The TAV Airports and Fraport joint venture has secured €2.8 billion in long-term financing for the expansion of Antalya Airport, marking a key milestone in the region’s aviation infrastructure. The funding, provided by international and Turkish financial institutions, replaces an earlier bridge loan used for the concession payment and the initial construction works. The 13.5-year agreement reflects strong investor confidence in the airport’s growth potential and strategic importance.
This funding supports the continued development of one of Türkiye’s busiest international gateways. The expansion project, now in its final phase, will significantly increase passenger capacity and operational efficiency. Already, the second international terminal and the domestic terminal have been enlarged, with apron space expanded to accommodate more aircraft. New commercial areas, lounges, and service facilities have also been introduced, aiming to improve the passenger experience.
Having begun operations at Antalya Airport in 2022 under a concession valid until 2051, the TAV-Fraport partnership is committed to positioning the airport as a key international hub. With traffic surpassing 38 million passengers in 2024, the expansion is expected to boost annual capacity beyond 80 million over the concession period.
