SESAR research partners work on automated runway condition monitoring system
SESAR partners have begun testing a system at Gdansk Airport that can continuously monitor and report on runway conditions – improving the safety of the traffic on the runway during changing weather conditions.
The system automatically generates reports on the current condition of the runway and continuously distributes data to all stakeholders involved in air traffic control and airport operations, and is also capable of producing short-term predictions of runway conditions.
