Rome Fiumicino Airport celebrates its 65th birthday with a €9 billion plan
As Rome Fiumicino Airport celebrates its 65th anniversary, it looks to the future with a self-funded and sustainable €9 billion plan.
Hosting an anniversary ceremony to celebrate being in operation since 1960, Italy’s President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, visited Aeroporti di Roma’s Innovation Hub – the first start-up accelerator in a European airport and the heart of Aeroporti di Roma’s innovation strategy.
CEO Marco Troncone unveiled a €9 billion sustainable development investment plan, noting it is entirely self-funded and designed to support their growing passenger numbers.
