Planning for passenger demand volatilities

EUROCONTROL and ACI EUROPE have joined forces to develop a business intelligence service to help predict aircraft load factors and individual passenger counts per flight. The service (known as Passenger Demand Support Service or PDSS) – which is in the final stages of beta testing – aims to support airports of any size to plan and manage their operations based on the predictions of the tool. Enhanced staff planning and resource allocation are just two of the operational benefits envisaged through the new service.

A PDSS preview was offered to ACI EUROPE members at a recent webinar, where EUROCONTROL and ACI EUROPE were joined by Malta, Rome and Prague airports to discuss use cases.
