Milan Linate introduces FaceBoarding for an enhanced passenger experience
Since early May, Milan Linate has been offering the FaceBoarding service, allowing passengers to use biometric facial recognition for security checks and boarding. All airlines can integrate this system, with ITA Airways and SAS being the first to join.
This service improves the airport experience by reducing identity check times and enhancing security. Registered passengers can use kiosks or a mobile app (available from June) to avoid showing documents at security and boarding gates, making the process self-service.
FaceBoarding is voluntary, with annual or single-flight registration. Developed with ENAC and the State Police, it speeds up checks all the while protecting passenger privacy. The biometric system and gates have been developed by Thales and Dormakaba.
