Liège Airport announces CargoLand
Liège Airport has announced a €500 million investment to build a new cargo hub called CargoLand. The project aims to make the airport one of the top three air freight centres in Europe by 2040. Already known as one of Europe’s busiest cargo airports, Liège offers 24/7 operations and strong connections by road, rail, and sea.
CargoLand will cover over 100 hectares and include new warehouses, offices, an e-commerce centre, parking areas, and a hangar for aircraft maintenance. The site will handle goods like pharmaceuticals, fresh food, parcels, and express deliveries, using modern systems to track shipments in real time.
The airport is also launching a new platform called LGG Connect, to bring together logistics companies, airlines, and local partners. With most of Europe’s economy just a one‑day truck drive away, Liège hopes the new hub will attract more businesses and support long‑term growth.
