Joint Finnish aviation campaign promotes responsible passenger behaviour
In recent years, unruly passenger behaviour has become an increasing concern in air travel, not only worldwide but also in Finland. In response, several key aviation organisations, including Traficom, Finnair, Finavia, and Finnish authorities, have joined forces to launch a joint campaign called “Put Yourself in Flight Mode”. The goal is to raise awareness about responsible behaviour at airports and on board flights, just before the busy summer travel season begins.
Although the majority of passengers follow the rules, even a small number of disruptive individuals can have a negative impact on the safety and comfort of others. Common issues include alcohol abuse, smoking on board, and ignoring flight safety instructions. The campaign underlines that everyone – passengers and staff alike – has the right to a safe and respectful travel experience.
The aviation community in Finland is working together to create long-term solutions by sharing best practices, improving staff training, and adopting a zero-tolerance approach towards inappropriate behaviour. The message is clear: respect for others and compliance with rules are essential for a smooth and pleasant journey for all.
