Harlow pupils at the launch of the new Jet Zero course at London Stansted
London Stansted has launched Jet Zero, an educational initiative to teach young people about sustainable flying. Using interactive technology, students learn about sustainable aviation fuel and how it will help aviation reach net zero by 2050.
This is just the first part of Manchester Airports Group’s (MAG) plan to roll out a full carbon curriculum, focused on aviation decarbonisation. Further phases will cover airspace modernisation, zero emission aircraft and carbon removals, with additional modules launching across the Group’s Aerozones later this academic year.
This is part of MAG’s commitment to creating a more sustainable future, with their Jet Zero Strategy including pledges to Jet Zero Research, Jet Zero SAF, Jet Zero Airspace and Jet Zero Technology – all of which will contribute to the decarbonisation of the aviation sector. MAG itself is committed to achieving net-zero carbon operations by 2038. The education facility, Aerozone Stansted, is a key part of the airport’s “Opportunity for All” strategic pillar.
