Farnborough tower goes hybrid digital

Farnborough Airport is set to become the UK’s pioneering airfield with a cutting-edge hybrid digital control tower. This innovative project was developed with air traffic service provider NATS and digital tower platform supplier Searidge Technologies.

The new control tower will provide controllers with advanced tools and combine traditional visual observations with panoramic video screens. Strategically placed high-definition cameras will improve visibility, while new surveillance technology integrated into Searidge’s platform will track aircraft and airport vehicles more effectively. This innovative approach will increase safety and efficiency, particularly in low visibility conditions like fog.

Farnborough Airport is proud to be the first in the UK to adopt this groundbreaking technology, which ensures safety and regulatory compliance while optimising airfield operations.
