EUROCONTROL DG Raúl Medina joins Advisory Board of global carbon standard
Raúl Medina Caballero, the new Director General of EUROCONTROL, is the latest member to join the Airport Carbon Accreditation Advisory Board. By accepting his appointment, Mr Medina succeeds Eamonn Brennan in this capacity.
Mr Medina commented ‘I am honoured to join the Advisory Board of the ACI Carbon Accreditation Programme, demonstrating both EUROCONTROL and my own commitment to reducing the environmental impact of aviation. Climate change is an issue that is impacting people and communities around the world and I am delighted to be part of this important initiative to ensure that Europe’s airports are able to manage and reduce their carbon emissions.’
The independent Advisory Board is comprised of many distinguished experts representing leading international and national institutions in the fields of air transport and environment, including International Civil Aviation Organisation, United National Framework Convention for Climate Change, US Federal Aviation Authority, European Commission, among others. The group oversees the programme’s administration and reviews its progress and relevance.
EUROCONTROL has been supporting Airport Carbon Accreditation from its inception back in 2009 through formal endorsement and representation on the programme’s Advisory Board.
