EUROCONTROL and ICAO agree on further training partnerships

EUROCONTROL and ICAO have strengthened their partnership to enhance training for aviation professionals globally, by signing a new agreement in Montreal. The partnership builds on EUROCONTROL’s role as a Corporate Partner in ICAO’s TRAINAIR Plus programme, focusing on addressing the global challenge of recruiting and retaining aviation professionals.

The new training course will focus on mentoring, a key tool for helping individuals start and grow in their aviation careers, especially those from under-represented groups. Mentoring is seen as crucial for attracting junior and mid-level professionals to the sector. This initiative is part of ICAO’s Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) programme, which aims to ensure a sufficient workforce for the sustainable development of global aviation.

The training programme will be delivered globally, with EUROCONTROL overseeing its implementation in Europe and ICAO managing worldwide courses. The initial target audiences include HR professionals, human factors specialists, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) experts in the aviation sector.
