Edinburgh Airport revolutionises security with CT scanner innovation
Edinburgh Airport is introducing Smiths Detection’s HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX X-ray scanners to enhance security and passenger experience.
These scanners will eliminate the need to remove electronic devices, liquids, and gels from hand luggage. The technology offers quick baggage assessment, low false alarms, and detailed content analysis.
Passengers will benefit from a smoother security process. The implementation aligns with sustainability goals and the UK Government’s 2024 deadline for CT scanner installation.
Until then, current security rules, like liquid limits and removing large electronics, will still apply.
