Eco‑garden competition for local primary schools by Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund has just hit its 25th anniversary, and to celebrate, Manchester Airport is organising an eco‑garden competition for the local primary schools.
The top prize will be £25,000 for a new eco‑friendly garden or outdoor learning area, while a runner-up and third-placed school will receive £10,000 and £5,000 respectively.
Primary schools within a 10-mile catchment area around the airport have been invited to submit a proposal outlining how they would spend the funds.
Six finalist schools will be selected, with pupils asked to prepare a pitch to the trustees to decide the winners. The pitches will be delivered at a grand final event under the wings of the Concorde at the airport’s Runway Visitor Park.
