Best Airport Awards 2024
This year our Best Airport Awards will recognise airports for resilience encompassing all its aspects, such as strategic, financial, operational, environmental, social, and more.
The Awards will recognise the best-in-class airports, building resilience and agility into their overarching strategy and every aspect of their operations to revitalise and refine their airport business for uncertain times. With the COVID-19-induced changes to the European aviation market here to stay, the political landscape shifting and yielding to tense geopolitics, as well as the sustainability imperative looming large, Europe’s airports need to adapt faster and transform deeper.
To recognise airports’ efforts in specific areas of their activity, the Awards portfolio also includes dedicated accolades:
The Eco-Innovation Award
In association with Airport Carbon Accreditation, the award is presented to the airport that has demonstrated outstanding environmental performance and innovative approach to environmental management, across four main pillars: Climate Change, Noise Management, Biodiversity and Wildlife Management, and Circular Economy.
The Digital Transformation Award
A joint initiative of ACI EUROPE and the SESAR Joint Undertaking, this award recognises a European airport that has embraced digitalisation, adopting innovative technologies and procedures to improve the safety, capacity, efficiency and environmental footprint of its operations.
To compete for this award, airports are required to provide details of implementation of a solution(s) (SESAR Solutions or solutions developed outside the programme) that match the SESAR vision of the Digital European Sky.
The Human Resources Excellence Award
ACI EUROPE in partnership with its Leadership and Human Resources Forum, wishes to recognise an HR department from amongst ACI EUROPE Regular Members that has demonstrated excellence in managing human resources and developing the airport workforce for the future. The award aims to give exposure to initiatives that will help the airport community better assess and implement the new procedures and skills needed to develop its workforce. In assessing the applications, the judging panel will consider the various challenges facing HR directors and airport leaders, such as employee mobility, succession planning, training, well-being, change management, sustainability, and digitalisation.
This year, the focus of the award is on Leadership Competence: How HR is Supporting Leadership Capability and Transformation in the Changeable Workplace.
The judging panel will comprise representatives from the top European and global institutions, aviation bodies and commentators.
The deadline for submissions is 06 May 2024.
