Anti-trafficking drive starts at Larnaca, Paphos Hermes Airports

In a joint effort to combat the global issue of human trafficking, the Interior Ministry of Cyprus, Cyprus Police, and Social Welfare Services, in collaboration with Hermes Airports, have launched an awareness-raising campaign at Larnaca and Paphos airports to enable travellers and front-line staff to be better able to identify and assist possible victims, always in collaboration with the relevant authorities.

Hundreds of thousands of human trafficking victims are recorded around the world each year. On top of raising awareness to the travelling public and the front-line staff, the Hermes Airports campaign will provide tools to identify possible victims and how to handle such situations, always in collaboration with the relevant authorities.

Thus, the initiative aims also to highlight the need for collaboration among all involved stakeholders to combat human trafficking.
