ANA and VINCI Airports partner with Vision-Box on ‘Biometric Experience’ for five Portuguese airports
ANA Aeroportos do Portugal and VINCI Airports have joined forces with VisionBox to launch the “Biometric Experience by VINCI Airports” project. The project has already kicked off at Porto and Lisbon airports, and will soon be extended to three other Portuguese airports: Faro, Funchal, and Ponta Delgada. The initiative is backed by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program, which aims to promote the integration of technology and digital transformation at airports.
With the new biometric solution for passengers, travelling will be easier, paperless, contactless, with no stops and no queues. The service guarantees confidentiality, as the data is deleted once the flight has departed. The first tests are being carried out with TAP Air Portugal passengers on departures from Lisbon and Porto airports, in the Schengen area. In a second phase, other airlines and more destinations will be added, including extra-European flights.
