Amadeus joins an International LGBTQ+ Travel Association
Amadeus has joined the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) to become an even more active ally of the LGBTQ+ community. IGLTA aims to expand LGBTQ+ tourism by demonstrating its social and economic impact and providing resources for LGBTQ+ travellers.
The company has already a strong history of supporting the LGBTQ+ community. In 2018, the company became a supporter of the United Nations Standards of Conduct for Business, which aims to address discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, & Intersex individuals. Additionally, Amadeus is a founding member of REDI (Red Empresarial por la Diversidad e Inclusión LGBTI+), the first Spanish business network of professionals that promotes LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion in workplaces throughout Spain.
A global employee resource group exists within Amadeus ‑ Amadeus Proud ‑ where LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies can come together. It is a growing space where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression is encouraged to realise their whole self, from both a personal and professional perspective.
