Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation publishes guidance for airports to prepare for future hydrogen and electric-powered aircraft
Electric, hybrid-electric and hydrogen-powered aircraft represent a key opportunity to reduce the environmental footprint of air travel – yet their implementation poses significant operational and infrastructure challenges for airports. In response to this, the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA) has launched a new factsheet tool designed to support airports in their future planning and operational readiness.
The tool provides a structured catalogue of factsheets that address critical considerations related to infrastructure, operations, and safety. Through a series of open-ended questions, this tool prompts airports to assess how prepared they are for the advent of these new aircraft – and highlights areas requiring further development.
As the organisation chairing the alliance’s task force dedicated to airports, ACI EUROPE took the lead in developing the file.
