Every one a winner

Several of ACI EUROPE’s members were celebrating in October as the prestigious annual Best Airport Awards were presented. Recognising excellence and outstanding achievement across the entire portfolio of airport activities, the 2021 Awards had a particular focus on the many ways in which airports not only responded but innovated during the pandemic. Adding to the portfolio of Best Airport category winners are additional accolades in the areas of eco-innovation, accessibility, digital transformation and the World Business Partner award.

With a judging panel comprised of institutional stakeholders drawn from the European Commission, EUROCONTROL, SESAR JU, International Transport Forum and ECAC, the winners were declared as:

Best Airports 2021
Under 5 million passengers: Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport
5-10 million passengers: Falcone Borsellino Palermo Airport
10-25 million passengers: Vnukovo International Airport
25-40 million passengers: Athens International Airport
Over 40 million passengers: iGA Instanbul Grand Airport
Eco-Innovation Award: Stockholm Arlanda Airport
Accessible Airport Award: iGA Istanbul Grand Airport
Digital Transformation Award: Aeroporti di Roma
World Business Partner Award: Tine Haas, Dornier Consulting International
