ACI EUROPE launch world’s first sector-specific commitment to promoting diversity, accessibility, and inclusion within the airport industry
ACI EUROPE has launched the world’s first sectorial commitment to promoting diversity, accessibility and inclusion through their new Inclusion Charter. The Inclusion Charter calls on Europe’s airports to embrace inclusion in every aspect of their operations, from passenger experience to workforce: ensuring Europe’s airports are true champions of inclusivity.
The Charter outlines several core principles that will guide airports in their efforts to nurture inclusivity, including: inclusive design, accessibility for all abilities, cultural sensitivity, gender equality & family inclusion, and customer-centric experience. ACI EUROPE members will on the basis of the Charter work together to foster a culture of inclusivity, ensuring that airports not only meet but exceed the expectations of all passengers.
Welcoming the release of the Charter, Magda Kopczyńska, Director General for Mobility and Transport at the European Commission said: “The vision behind the ACI EUROPE Inclusion Charter — to build a European ecosystem where every passenger enjoys seamless, respectful, and empowering journeys — strongly aligns with the EU’s commitment to creating a Union of Equality. This proactive step underscores the European airport industry’s dedication to inclusion, and we look forward to working together to make this vision a tangible reality for all passengers”.
