10 European organisations across travel and tourism meet with Transport Commissioner
10 leading European travel and tourism organisations, including ACI EUROPE, convened in the European Parliament this month for a high-level meeting with Apostolos Tzitzikostas, Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, MEP Daniel Attard and other Members of the Tourism Task Force, as well as European Commission and EU Member States representatives. Following the landmark joint declaration signed in April, the coalition continued their aim of enhancing cross-sector collaboration and deepening engagement with policymakers to achieve a sustainable and competitive future for the travel and tourism sector.

Speaking at the event, ACI EUROPE’s Director of Sustainability Alexandre de Joybert stated the need for clear support for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production, and an uptake in Europe through an EU SAF industry policy.
Joybert called for aviation to be factored into EU energy and industrial policy in order to access the energy resources needed to meet key decarbonisation objectives. With this in mind, Joybert reiterated the call for European policymakers to include aviation in the upcoming Clean Industrial Deal.
